Week 7 kicked off with a less-than-impressive Thursday Night Football game where the Broncos defeated the squandering Saints 33-10. The Sunday slate should provide much more excitement with the Texans traveling to Lambeau to face the Packers and the Lions and Vikings facing off in a bigtime NFC North matchup. Below is a quick preview with storylines heading into each game. Bets, DFS plays and Extra Points will be posted separately this week.
Patriots (1-5) vs Jaguars (1-5) in London
The Jaguars remain in London even after their embarrassing 35-16 loss to the Bears there last week. Another poor showing in front of their London faithful could result in Head Coach Doug Pederson getting the axe sooner than later.
Seahawks (3-3) at Falcons (4-2)
The Seahawks have lost 3 in a row while the Falcons are riding a 3-game win streak. Although that makes this game sound like a disaster, these teams match up well. The Seahawks offense hasn’t clicked under new OC Ryan Grubb yet, but it’s very close. This could be the game where they find their rhythm and turn this matchup into a high-scoring affair.
Titans (1-4) at Bills (4-2)
Buffalo welcomes much-needed wide receiver help with the addition of Amari Cooper via a trade with the Browns. The Titans reportedly plan to start Mason Rudolph at QB, though it may not be enough to handle the Bills.
Bengals (2-4) at Browns (1-5)
The Browns welcome back star running back Nick Chubb this week after being out for more than a year with a knee injury. It may create some temporary excitement, but it won’t be enough to overcome the elephant in the room of Deshaun Watson continuously starting despite not being the best QB on the roster.
Texans (5-1) at Packers (4-2)
CJ Stroud has avoided all “welcome to the NFL moments” so far in his impressive young career. Traveling to Lambeau Field to face a hot Packers team is no easy feat though. Green Bay’s defense has forced 3 turnovers in all but one game this season and should manage a win if they can continue their streak.
Dolphins (2-3) at Colts (3-3)
The Colts welcome back their “starting QB” Anthony Richardson as the Dolphins come to visit off their bye. Miami will only have to survive one more week as the reports are that Tua Tagovailoa will return to the starting lineup next week.
Lions (4-1) at Vikings (5-0)
It feels like a brand-new season for the Lions as they start their journey without star defensive end and DPOY frontrunner Aidan Hutchinson. They will need all the pass rush they can muster against the Vikings who are 8th best in the league with a 63% pass blocking win rate. A couple of second-chance QBs go head-to-head in what could be the game of the week.
Eagles (3-2) at Giants (2-4)
Philly is coming off an unimpressive win against Cleveland last week as they head to MetLife to face another unimpressive team in the Giants. The leading story here will be Saquon Barkley’s return after the Giants chose Daniel Jones over him last offseason.
Raiders (2-4) at Rams (1-4)
Raiders players and coaches are already auditioning 7 weeks into the season as new minority owner Tom Brady comes into the fold. There have already been Belichick rumors as the culture may be getting a much needed change very soon in Vegas.
Panthers (1-5) at Commanders (4-2)
The Panthers took another embarrassing loss last week while the Commanders went toe to toe with the Ravens, who are playing the best football in the league. Washington is starting to earn real expectations and shouldn’t have any problem with the Panthers in week 7.
Chiefs (5-0) at 49ers (3-3)
This isn’t the 49ers team we watched in the Super Bowl last year. While the Chiefs have found ways to win, the 49ers have found ways to lose including head-scratchers against the Cardinals and Rams. They will look to build off a Thursday night win against the Seahawks, but it will be tough as the Chiefs are coming off their bye. Andy Reid is 21-4 after a bye week, which is the best record in NFL history.
Jets (2-4) at Steelers (4-2)
Aaron Rodgers finally gets his old toy back with the Jets acquiring Davante Adams earlier this week. Russell Wilson gets the start per the original plan in Pittsburgh when the season started, despite Justin Fields leading the Steelers to a 4-2 record.
