Week 2 of preseason has wrapped up leaving just a little over 2 weeks before the Thursday night opener between the Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens. Sure, there is still the third week of preseason games to play, but as usual I expect most of the recognizable players to be on the sidelines in street clothes. It feels safe to assume that we have seen the last of the starters until the games have some real meaning. Two weeks until official kickoff feels like an eternity, but the hardcore football fans will be busy. Between prepping for our fantasy football drafts, setting up our season long bets and making Super Bowl predictions – the regular season will be here before we know it.
There are countless shows, websites, apps or social media accounts to follow to find the hottest bets, but they are all without any accountability. We follow their lead, lose our money and then go back and do it again. I’m not a seasoned bettor and don’t put any real money into it, but it’s a fun way to create some interest in teams and players that you otherwise wouldn’t worry about.
The season long bets that I like are posted below. The difference between mine and mainstream sports media is that most of these bets are outside the top 3 favorites. Also, after the season I will revisit this post to see how good (or horribly) they all turned out. All odds are from Fanduel (don’t sue me) and are current to the posting of this blog. You’ll see brief descriptions for some of the bets, but if any are real head scratchers to you, I would be happy to explain if you mention them in the comments.

Season long bets are a great way to track players and teams that you would not be interested in otherwise. Comment to let us all know which of these you love, hate, or bets of your own that you think we could all benefit from. We’re all here to enjoy some football and maybe make a little coin along the way. Before the season begins I will also be posting my predictions who will win the individual awards, each division and of course the Super Bowl. To this point, I have enjoyed writing all the content i’ve put out with plans for much much more. I hope that you enjoy it too and will continue to support this platform throughout the season and please share share share!
